Knowledge
is empowerment. Farmers often lack of knowledge about various
aspects of agriculture and allied subjects. They need to be
thoroughly and interactively trained on these aspects time
to time to keep them abreast with the latest developments.
KVK Burdwan has conducted training programmes for different
stake-holders and some of the impacts so far are mentioned
here under:
1. Trainings for PF and FW:

Seed treatment of different
crops has been come in practice.
Use of biofertilizer and biopesticide has been increased.

vegetables in the cropping system.

Scientific cultivation of IMC.
Cultivation of off season vegetable.

2. Vocational Training for Rural Youth:

Impact:
Preparation of Jute handicraft
– Six of the trainees (Five female and one male) are
generating income through handicraft preparation.
Preparation of Kantha Stitch - Five of the trainees
(female) are supplementing family income.
Vermicompost production – Eight village level
production units have been formed.
Mushroom cultivation – Twenty village level
production units have been formed for domestic consumption.
Self help group – Fifty four (54) SHGs have
been formed and actively working in collaboration with KVK
and NABARD.
